Rebecca M. Dunning

Associate

Rebecca is a dedicated Associate in our Family and Matrimonial Law Department, where she focuses on guiding individuals through complex relationship challenges. Focusing on areas such as divorce, child custody, child support, domestic violence, and intimate partner violence, Rebecca provides compassionate and knowledgeable legal support to her clients.

Before joining O’Connell and Aronowitz, Rebecca honed her skills at a respected local law firm, where she focused on resolving intricate divorce, custody, and support matters. Additionally, she served as an Attorney for Children in the Appellate Division Third Department’s Assigned Counsel Program. In this role, Rebecca passionately advocated for children of varying ages involved in custody, divorce, and family offense cases in both Albany County Family Court and Albany County Supreme Court.

Rebecca’s commitment to alternative dispute resolution led her to pursue mediation training at the New York Peace Institute in Brooklyn, New York. This additional skill enhances her ability to find amicable solutions for her clients, whenever possible.

Prior to her legal career, Rebecca worked as a Student Affairs professional, where she addressed critical issues such as campus sexual assault. It was her experiences in this role that inspired her transition to the field of law, driven by a deep-seated desire to effect positive change and support individuals in their times of greatest need.
