NEW YORK STATE MEDICAID WILL BE ADOPTING A PROVISIONAL TEMPORARY ENROLLMENT PROCESS FOR PROVIDERS DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS
eMedNY has advised that the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS) has approved New York State’s request to adopt a provisional temporary enrollment process for providers in the Medicaid program for the duration of the public health emergency caused by the COVID-19/coronavirus crisis.
According to eMedNY, it will be waiving several screening and enrollment requirements for providers seeking provisional temporary enrollment in New York Medicaid. Minimum data requirements will be collected to facilitate claims transactions, including but not limited to an NPI and license information. Further details on the provisional temporary enrollment process will be available from eMedNY soon. When this information is made available, we will update this article accordingly.
eMedNY has further advised that inquiries specifically related to an ongoing COVID-19 enrollment or maintenance issue should be addressed via email to providerenrollment@health.ny.gov with “COVID-19 Enrollment” in the subject line. Please include pertinent information (e.g., provider name, NPI, etc., as applicable) and/or Enrollment Tracking Number, if known. If you have any such questions, please contact the eMedNY Call Center at (800) 343-9000.
