TELECONFERENCE ADDRESSES JUSTICE CENTER’S IMPACT ON NYSCAL MEMBERS

The O’Connell and Aronowitz Healthcare Consulting Group conducted a teleconference, “Complying with the Justice Center”, for the New York State Center for Assisted Living (NYSCAL).

The audio program, presented July 22nd, was designed to educate NYSCAL members on the regulations and mandates of the newly-formed Justice Center and the operational impact and legal considerations for facilities subjected to its rules.

Presented by Carla Williams, Director of O&A Healthcare Consulting Group and Health Law attorney Caitlin Monjeau, the program outlined the new Justice Center’s mission and goals and its compliance requirements.  Topics included overview of facilities subjected to the Justice Centers rules, the roles of Custodians and Mandated Reporters, requirements for hiring and training, reporting and investigation process for incidents, as well as review of the penalties associated with failure to comply.
