Devastated by a Doctor’s Negligence, a Desperate Mother Comes to O’Connell and Aronowitz
Like most people, Cathy had never been involved in litigation. She knew nothing about how the legal system worked and had no idea where to turn when her 2 young daughters were victims of a doctor’s medical malpractice in his failure to recognize sexual abuse. Desperately seeking assistance for her injured children and unsure where to turn, she called O’Connell and Aronowitz based on the advice of someone she knew.
From the first encounter with the O’Connell and Aronowitz Personal Injury Litigation Group, Cathy knew she had come to the right place.
“All my cries for help were falling on deaf ears,” Cathy recalls about the cycle of events that led to her seeking legal remedy for the injuries to her children. “I knew right away from talking to Pam Nichols and Steve Coffey that my kids and I were not alone any longer in this terrible situation.”
Particularly with children, the process of litigation can be difficult. “Pam and Steve took my children and their feelings into consideration every step of the way. They were very, very gentle how they handled the kids and the entire case,” said Cathy. “There was never a time that I called the office needing something that I didn’t get assistance right away.”
After trial in federal court, O’Connell and Aronowitz won an $11 million jury verdict against the doctor for negligent care and treatment of Cathy’s daughters.
While courtroom victories are often the tool by which law firms are measured, we take immense pride in our compassionate collaboration with our clients, like Cathy, during a time when their lives have been turned around due to injury and in some cases death.
“I would definitely recommend O’Connell and Aronowitz,” Cathy said. “As far as I am concerned, there aren’t any other law firms that would even come close.”
