Each year, thousands of children in the Capital District start the new school year without having the necessary materials to help them succeed in the classroom and beyond.

To do our part in helping prepare local children for the new academic year, we are working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady to provide support and assistance to children in the community by volunteering our time at the Club as part of a nationwide community outreach event — known as the Injury Board Day of Action (#IBDayofAction).

On Thursday, August 4th, our attorneys and staff will visit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady’s Mont Pleasant location at 1104 Webster St., Schenectady to participate in an onsite service project to repaint the facility’s gymnasium.

“As a firm, we are dedicated to giving back to the local community and helping those in need,” says Pamela Nichols, Managing Partner. “We are truly honored to be a part of this nationwide day of action to help support and improve the well-being of children and families and support the great work of the Boys & Girls Clubs.”

Following our service day at the Mont Pleasant clubhouse, we will launch a 2-week donation campaign to collect school supplies for the 12,000 children across Schenectady ages 6-18 who are served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady. Some of the supplies needed include: crayons, pens, pencils, erasers, colored markers, tissues, pencil sharpeners, pocket folders, glue sticks, dry erase markers and board games. Donations can be dropped off through August 22 at our offices in Albany – 54 State Street; Saratoga Springs – 1 Church Street; Latham – 624 New Loudon Road.

The IB Day of Action is a nationwide, collaborative effort to bring together more than 100 plaintiffs’ lawyer firms from across the U.S. — all working for the same cause on the same day.

“We are passionate about helping Injury Board members give back to their communities; it’s part of the DNA of our organization,” says Tom Young, attorney-at-law and co-founder of The Injury Board. “We are extremely proud to bring our members together for this day of action. To make even the smallest difference is better than making no difference at all.”
