Kevin Laurilliard is a partner in our Construction Law department, concentrating on construction and surety law, commercial law, bankruptcy law, and creditors’ rights law. In construction and surety law, Kevin represents a diverse clientele, including architects, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and sureties for a full range of legal services, including contract review and negotiation; counseling on the many issues that may arise during the construction phase; and representation in the event of litigation and/or ADR.
Mr. Laurilliard represented the design builder for the construction of a new computer chip factory in Malta, New York, which at the time was the largest construction project in North America. He also represented the following Owners for the following construction projects: construction of the first green library in upstate New York; construction of the new train station in the Capital District; and extensive renovations and improvements to the Albany County Courthouse.
Kevin has extensive experience reviewing and negotiating contracts for both public jobs and private jobs. He has successfully litigated, arbitrated and mediated a variety of construction, bankruptcy, and commercial law matters in state and federal courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Kevin served as an Appellate Court attorney with the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department. For many years, he was an adjunct professor at Russell Sage College. Mr. Laurilliard is admitted to practice in all of the federal, state, and bankruptcy courts in the State of New York.
