HEALTH LAW TOPICS ADDRESSED IN PRESENTATIONS BY DANIELLE HOLLEY

Health Law attorney Danielle Holley presented a recent seminar for the Clinical Ethics Primer Series at the Albany Guardian Scoiety in conjunction with the Alden March Bioethics Institute of Albany Medical College. The presentation, “When Are Medical Interventions and Treatments Futile?” was presented on March 20th to an audience of social workers, administrators and nursing supervisors from hospitals and nursing homes across NY.

Holley is also slated to present a program for the Community Health Care Services Foundation. The webinar, “How to Legally Tackle the Conversation About End-of-LIfe Decisions” aims to educate home care clinicians to understand legal responsibilities, New York State requirements and provide education on how to have conversations with clients regarding end-of-life decisions. A discussion of basic ethical issues that arise at end-of-life, legal obligations to provide information and advance directive options in addition to key principles in the Family Health Care Decisions Act (FHCDA), the Palliative Care Information Act (PCIA), the Palliative Care Access Act (PCCA) will be discussed.

In her Health Law practice area, Danielle represents health care providers, trade associations and social services providers in various litigation proceedings.  She earned a joint Juris Doctor/M.S. in Bioethics degree from Albany Law School.
