Steve Coffey and Scott Iseman Successfully Defend State Senator Robert Ortt in Major Attorney General Prosecution

On June 27^th, Stephen R. Coffey, along with associate attorney Scott W. Iseman, achieved a tremendous victory when Senator Robert Ortt was cleared of all felony corruption charges by Albany Court Judge Peter A. Lynch.

The hard-fought win, reported by the New York Times as a â’surprising rebuke of New York’s attorney general Eric T. Schneiderman,’ cleared Senator Ortt of all charges in a case based on allegations that he filed false disclosure statements with the state’s Board of Elections.  In his 10-page decision, Judge Lynch used strong language in dismissing the indictment against Ortt, a Republican from the Niagara Falls area and former mayor of nearby North Tonowanda.

The garnered case extensive publicity including USAToday, New York Daily News and Times Union.
