Danielle Holley Shares Insight on New Medicare Enrollment Rules in The Dark Report

  • Nov 22 2019

A new federal rule, that went into effect this month, has the potential to impact healthcare providers including clinical laboratories and pathology groups.  Danielle Holley was interviewed for The Dark Report to discuss the the far reaching and potentially negative effects of the new “Program Integrity Enhancements to the Provider Enrollment Process” rule.

Introduced by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the rule has a laudable goal of fighting fraud by preventing individuals or business entities involved in fraudulent or abusive schemes from operating under different providers names or identifications. The potential challenge, Danielle explains in her interview, is that compliant providers who have worked with a provider or supplier who has run afoul of CMS’ rules in the past, may now have an obligation to disclose to CMS their affiliations with those other individual or entities.
