Mr. Coffey is a member of the Albany County, New York State and American Bar Associations, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Defenders Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers in America, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Criminal Justice Section, Member of the Advisory Group of the U.S. District Court - Civil Justice Reform Act of 1990, and a Member of the New York State Committee on Judicial Conduct.

    Mr. Coffey has served as the Treasurer for the Albany Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1993. He teaches a practical skills course for the New York State Bar Association on "Evaluation, Negotiation, and Settlement of Civil Cases." He is an active supporter of charitable organizations involving the handicapped, Muscular Dystrophy and Living Resources. He provides pro bono work and on a regular basis has represented indigent clients.
