In the area of medical malpractice, Mr. Coffey has successfully litigated complicated catastrophic injury cases in multiple disciplines including neurology, obstetrics, general surgery, neurosurgery, psychology, infectious disease, pediatrics, thoracic surgery, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, neonatology and pediatric neurology. He also has an extensive appellate practice and has briefed and argued cases in the Appellate Divisions throughout the State of New York, the New York Court of Appeals and the Federal Appellate Courts. Mr. Coffey appears regularly as a commentator on local television and radio stations to discuss highly publicized local and national civil and criminal cases. He has lectured and written extensively on civil and criminal trial practice. He recently co-authored the article "Punitive Damages" for a National Business Institute book entitled For the Plaintiff: Determining and Proving Damages - For the Defense: Limiting Damages in New York. Mr. Coffey has been selected to appear in the New Third Edition of the National Directory of Criminal Lawyers. He is a statewide guest lecturer for the New York State Bar Association and a national lecturer on Medicaid Fraud.
