Mr. Weiskopf is Of Counsel in our Albany office, heading up the Matrimonial and Bankruptcy departments of the firm. He has lectured for the New York State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education programs on bankruptcy issues and to the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association on the interplay of matrimonial issues with bankruptcy law. Mr. Weiskopf was the attorney responsible for establishing a guiding theory of interest rates to be paid on car loans in Chapter 13 proceedings (In re Valente). He was also the attorney responsible for reducing interest to be paid on delinquent real property taxes in New York State in Chapter 13 proceedings (In re Dominick). Both were under the former Bankruptcy Code. He was also able to recover property taken by a county in a tax foreclosure (In re Herkimer Forest Products). An active member of the local community, Mr. Weiskopf has been involved with many civic and religious organizations throughout his career. Presently he is immediate Past-President of Congregation Gates of Heaven in Schenectady, NY.
