Mr. Carey is a member of our Estates and Trusts, Elder Law, Tax Law, Commercial Real Estate and Corporate practices in the firm’s Albany office. Mr. Carey is a business law attorney and certified public accountant, who advises corporate clients on transactional matters, and counsels business owners on the development of business succession strategies as part of a comprehensive estate and wealth preservation plan. He also advises on tax matters, including corporate, partnership, personal income tax and regularly provides estate planning and estate administration services.

    Prior to joining O’Connell and Aronowitz, Mr. Carey was engaged in the practice of law in the Albany area where he worked on various corporate law, taxation and commercial litigation matters. Previously, Mr. Carey was a law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence E. Kahn, United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York, and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Albany Law School. Before attending law school, he worked as a Senior Tax Consultant in the Boston and Albany offices of an international accounting firm where he managed multinational corporate accounts. Mr. Carey is a licensed certified public accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
